Langley Casino Killing Fraser Downs Casino

The Surrey Leader reports that the Fraser Downs Casino smaller than anticipated revenues in Cloverdale has contributed to losing money for it’s owner, the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation. They have also issued a warning about the degree of the company debt. Councillor Marvin Hunt, chair of Surrey City’s finance committee, “blamed the drop on the opening of a new casino in Langley City in May of last year, just 15 minutes from the Cloverdale facility.”
